Tasman National Park

During my stay in Tasmania, we went to Tasman National Park Lookout and the drive up to the lookout was absolutely surreal. Through the curvy roads, lush tall trees on a sunny day, what more could you ask for? And to top it off, there was a coffee caravan available at the lookout where we soaked in the view with sips of hot coffee!

The features of the landscape we can see from the lookout are mainly of a recent creation. About 6000 years ago the sea reached its modern level. The details of Pirates Bay beach and rocky, coastal landforms here have all been shaped since that time

After we were done with our coffee, we headed to the Tasman Arch, a bridge carved by the Tasman Sea. It is said that Tasman Arch was a sea cave and overtime powerful waves eroded the cave to form the Australia's Natural Stone Bridge.

Then , the next step was to the Fossil Bay Lookout where we could see farther down the coast to the south. The lookout is famous for sweeping ocean views.

About 20,000 years ago the sea was as much as 120m lower and shoreline was near Hippolyte Rocks. Eaglehawk Neck, Tasman Arch including Fossil Bay are most impressive rock formations in the park.
